LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The Red Cross of Southern Nevada continues efforts to help flooding victims in the Las Vegas valley.

86 people have received flood assistance from the Red Cross so far, the organization reported Thursday.

The Red Cross is providing flood victims and clean-up volunteers with water, sandwiches and snacks as they work to clean up damage from flooding Tuesday.

About 700 cleaning supply items, including mops and push brooms, have been delivered by Red Cross vehicles to flood impact areas, the organization said.

Disaster assessment teams are identifying people in need of financial and material support. Red Cross client caseworkers are meeting with residents and giving them the means to purchase necessities, the organization said.

Earlier in the week, the Red Cross assisted more than 50 people left temporarily homeless because of a neighborhood gas leak.

Anyone wishing to donate to Red Cross efforts can call (702) 369-3674. Donations can also be made online at redcrosslasvegas.com.
