LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Crews were able to extinguish a small fire in a trash chute at Planet Hollywood late Thursday morning.

Clark County Fire Department reported the two-alarm call just before 10:15 a.m.

According to officials, the fire sparked in trash chute on the fifth floor of the north hotel tower.

Smoke had spread to that floor and the sixth and seventh floors, CCFD said. Officials said guests from those floors were evacuated.

CCFD said the blaze was contained to the chute and quickly extinguished.

A female employee in her 60's was taken to Sunrise Hospital but was conscious and alert, CCFD reported. Her injuries were not specified.

Fire crews were still putting out hot spots by 11:24 a.m.

About 90 fire personnel from Clark County, Las Vegas and North Las Vegas were called to the scene.

Officials said sparks from a circular saw produced sparks that caused the fire around the trash chute. An activated sprinkler system was able to contain some of the fire.

CCFD estimated damage at $100,000.
