NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -
The North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and the city's Economic Development Division are determining how healthy local businesses are today. Officials and business leaders are meeting with owners and workers in Ward 3, which includes historic areas of east Las Vegas. The meeting is part of a series of "City Walks" planned for each of the City Council wards.
When it comes to gauging the pulse of business, Ward 3 Councilwoman Anita Wood says it is important to go straight to the source: "We want to know how their business is doing and what we can do to better ensure their success and keep people employed, while encouraging new businesses to come to create new jobs."
Participants in today's event will meet at 9 a.m. at Kavanaugh's Irish Pub on Ann Road. From there, groups will visit assigned targeted areas and spend about two hours meeting with businesses. A debriefing at Morrissey's Pub on Fifth Street will follow.
