The Las Vegas Halloween Parade is returning to downtown, and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Now in its third year, the 2012 parade will include art cars, music, fire performances and a costume contest.
The parade – on Halloween, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. – will kick off on Garces Avenue and Fourth Street and wind up on Third Street between Ogden and Stewart avenues.
Parade organizers said the best places to watch the parade are north or south of Fremont Street or on Fourth Street.
The costume contest is free to enter open to everyone. Sign up starts that evening at 5 p.m. at the beginning of the parade route.
In 2011, more than 12,000 took part in and watched the parade. Anyone with a costume is invited to be a part of the parade.
