LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
In response to multiple reports of flooding and fire Tuesday, our local chapter of the Red Cross has opened a Disaster Operations Center. Teams are compiling assessment reports and the chapter is in communication with emergency management organizations as well as citizens calling directly for service.
Several Red Cross Disaster Action Teams are delivering aid to families displaced by floods on East Naples Drive in Las Vegas. Six households were affected, displacing eight adults and one child. All of those displaced were given shelter for the night.
Several teams are administering aid in the area of Stephanie Street in Henderson, S. 15th Street in Las Vegas and the neighborhood near Desert Rose Golf Course.
A team is aiding those affected by a house fire in Sandy Valley.
The Red Cross is additionally calling down lists of more than 800 registered volunteers to staff Damage Assessment teams, Client Casework and administrative positions.
