LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Several valley residents will be kidnapped for a good cause next month.

It's for the second annual Kidnapped For a Cause event being hosted by Southern Nevada Children First on Oct. 5.

The organization will pretend to kidnap local business and community leaders to raise money to sponsor a young valley mother who will be living on her own.

Volunteers will be taken to an undisclosed location on Fremont Street.

That's where they will have to call family, friends and co workers to try and get them to pay their ransom money.

Ransom is set at $1,500 per participant.

The funds will help the young mother, who recently graduated from SNCF's Life skills and Transitional Housing program, to move into her own apartment with her baby.

The organization will hold a victim release celebration at Hennessey's Tavern lounge from 5-7 p.m. on Friday Oct. 5.

SNCF is a non-profit organization that provides long-term, transitional living and life skills training to homeless pregnant and parenting teens and young adults, ages 16-22.
