LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Las Vegas visitor numbers in July fell from the same month the year before, according to tourism officials.
Statistics released by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority on Monday showed an eight-tenths of a percent negative change in visitor volume from July 2011 to July 2012.
A total of 3,443,486 people visited the southern Nevada metropolis in July 2012. In July 2011, 3,472,861 people visited Las Vegas.
In addition, Las Vegas saw a 1.1 percent negative change in citywide lodging occupancy and a six-tenths of a percent downward change in the total amount of passengers at McCarran Airport.
The more than 3.4 million-visitor total was actually a jump from June 2012's total of 3,392,798.
The visitor total for 2012 is still up from the year-to-date total by this same time last year.
The visitor numbers came on the same day that the Nevada Gaming Control Board reported a year-to-year increase in Clark County gaming revenue for July.
