Ariel Palomares (LVMPD)
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A 31-year-old man was charged in connection with a triple stabbing Tuesday night at Fremont Street Experience.
According to Las Vegas Metro police, co-workers from a local pizza place gathered at Insert Coins on Fremont Street after getting off work. At around 9:30 p.m., the group left Insert Coins and gathered in front of Hennessey's Taven, also on Fremont.
Witnesses reported seeing suspect Ariel Palomares, 31, intoxicated and bumping into people on the walk over the Hennessey's.
A fist fight broke out and Palomares allegedly stabbed one man in the arm, another in the abdomen and a third in the chest, authorities said. The man with the chest wound suffered critical injuries while the other two had serious to minor injuries.
All three victims were treated at a local hospital.
Palomares fled the scene but later called a cellphone belonging to one of the victims. The victim turned the phone over to Metro police and Palomares agreed to turn himself in. Police later located Palomares near Third Street and Lewis with blood on his hands. They also located a knife with the word "DAD" inscribed on it belonging to Palomares.
According to his arrest report, Palomares told police he had consumed an entire bottle of vodka before meeting his co-workers at Insert Coins. He claimed to have blacked out, not remembering the altercation or running from the scene. He said he only remembered waking up at University Medical Center.
Palomares was booked on three counts of battery with a deadly weapon.
