LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Metro police said officers were still seeking a person or the people responsible for the probable slaying of Las Vegas teen Daniel Dean Way.

In an effort to garner more leads, Metro detectives released new information concerning the victim's condition upon being discovered.

Police said Way was found with nothing but underwear on. Both of his hands were severed at the wrists, detectives said.

His hands were not present at the crime scene and have not yet been located.

Las Vegas Metro police earlier released photos of two tattoos belonging to Way in hopes of identifying him.

According to Metro's Homicide Section, Way's body was found in an area near Los Feliz Street and Bonanza Road on Aug. 17.

Police urge anyone with information on the slaying to call Metro's Homicide Section at (702)-828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at (702)-385-5555.
