Wanted fugitive arrested in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A man who had been on the run for eight years for attempting to kill a Utah police officer was captured in Las Vegas.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, Joaquin Lopez-Caraballo, 36, who also goes by the name Reinhold Neumann, was arrested for an outstanding warrant for parole violation

Police said authorities received information he was working at a Las Vegas Strip property. He was arrested Thursday evening, Metro said.

According to police, Lopez-Caraballo was wanted for the parole violation in California and four other warrants in Utah, including trying to run over a police officer with a sport-utility vehicle.

His extradition hearing was scheduled for Tuesday.
