LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Police throughout the Las Vegas Valley are aiming to keep impaired drivers off the road this Labor Day weekend.
The various police departments in the area have planned sobriety checkpoints as part of a valley-wide enforcement.
Las Vegas Metro police said the most notable checkpoint was scheduled through 3 a.m. Saturday at a location in the southwest end.
Henderson police said officers will watch out for drivers on St. Rose Parkway, west of Eastern Avenue, from 8 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. the next morning.
The overall goal for the enforcement is to stop fatalities from happening on the road, especially for one of the deadliest holidays on the calendar.
According to Henderson PD, there were 390 deaths in traffic accidents across the United States on the Labor Day weekend, 2010.
