LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Heightened chances of rain will affect the Las Vegas area to start the Labor Day weekend.
As a result, the National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for Friday and a flash flood watch for Saturday.
NWS said a moist, unstable air mass remains in place over southern Nevada, which should bring storms and the likelihood of flash flooding throughout Saturday.
FOX5 meteorologist Ted Pretty said the rain chances should reduce into Sunday and Monday.
Officials warn people driving in the Las Vegas Valley to avoid traveling through low laying areas, especially those with standing water on the road.
