LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Detectives said a man charged in a Las Vegas slaying allegedly found the victim sleeping in a car outside a strip club.
Josue Nunez, 28, was arrested on charges that include murder with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon, burglary with a deadly weapon and first-degree kidnapping with a deadly weapon.
Police found the body of Steven Roy Blair, 31, inside a vehicle during a call of a robbery in the 4000 block of Alameda Street, according to Metro.
Blair had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Clark County Coroner's Office.
Police said officers established a perimeter around the area and a short time later discovered Nunez hiding in a shed nearby.
Another man exited the shed before Nunez and was questioned by police.
According to an arrest report, the other man with Nunez, identified as Miguel Bravo, told police he lived in the shed and that he had invited Nunez inside.
According to the report, Bravo told officers that Nunez admitted to stealing a credit card from a "white guy he found sleeping in a car" in the parking lot of Chicas Bonita Strip Club.
Detectives visited the club and reviewed surveillance video of Nunez and Blair.
Police said footage from outside the club appeared to show a suspect dressed like Nunez near Blair's car. The business also gave officers gun casings that had been swept up in the parking lot, according to Metro.
The report said detectives later listened to Nunez talk to his girlfriend, Jennifer Linares, on a jail phone system. The recorded conversation indicated that Linares had coordinated disposal of evidence with Linares.
Linares was later questioned and admitted that she had knowledge of what had happened on the night Nunez was at Chicas, police said.
In the report, Linares told police that Nunez was drunk and had been kicked out of Chicas. He was angry and wanted to go back and wait for the guy who kicked him out, according to Linares. She drove to the club with Nunez and waited in the car.
Linares told detectives she heard two gunshots and drove her car forward to see what had happened. Nunez told her to "Leave! Leave! Go! Go! Go!," according to the police case report.
Linares told officers that she returned home and Nunez eventually stopped by to wash up before leaving again, police said.
Based on police information, Blair was not the person who had kicked Nunez out of the strip club earlier in the evening. It appears Blair just happened to be sleeping in a vehicle parked outside of the club when Nunez returned.
Nunez was wanted on a prior fugitive warrant for escape from house arrest.
