LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
The Southern Nevada Health District on Tuesday confirmed the first cases of West Nile virus were found in mosquitoes in the 89107 zip code of Las Vegas.
Currently, no humans have been infected with the virus, according to health officials.
The 89107 zip code west of Interstate 15 and is bordered by Washington Avenue to the north, Charleston Boulevard to the south, Rainbow Boulevard to the west, and Rancho Drive to the east.
West Nile was first reported in Nevada last week, when a horse in Churchill County was diagnosed with the virus and euthanized.
Health officials said there were 16 cases of West Nile in humans statewide last year, including 11 in Clark County.
