LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

An infant was in critical condition at University Medical Center after being struck by a SUV at a bus stop near Eastern and Owens Avenues Saturday.

A man, woman and baby were hit by a driver while they sat at a bus stop around 12:45 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, the driver of a 1998 Kia Sportage was turning left from westbound Owens to go south on Eastern when he lost control and went onto a sidewalk, hitting the bus stop. He allegedly fled the scene and drove behind some buildings.

According to police witnesses detained the man until police arrived.

Identified as 22-year-old Julio Enriquez, the driver was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of drugs, hit and run and driving without a driver's license.

Traffic on Eastern Avenue heading south between Owens Avenue and Hinkle Drive was shut down while officers cleared the accident scene.
