Morning accident victim identified

SLOAN, NV (FOX5) -

A driver was killed after being ejected from his vehicle on Interstate 15, south of Las Vegas Friday, according to Nevada Highway Patrol.

NHP Friday identified the driver as 42-year-old Douglas Hutchings of Las Vegas.

NHP Trooper Loy Hixson said the accident happened just before 6 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-15 at Mile Marker 24, near the town of Sloan.

According to authorities the 2005 Pontiac driven by Hutchings traveled to the right off the roadway and onto the dirt shoulder where it continued down an embankment. The vehicle then rotated counterclockwise and overturned.
