LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Heavy rainfall in Las Vegas has created a number of traffic accidents Wednesday. Stephanie St. at Monson Channel was closed because of flood waters.

The Clark County Fire Department responded to reports of motorists stuck in vehicles due to flood waters. One was reported at the intersection of Christy Lane and Longbow Drive. Another was reported at the intersection of Shelbourne Ave and South Las Vegas Boulevard.

There were no reports of injuries at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Nevada Highway Patrol said the eastbound 215 Beltway was slow after a number of accidents near Decatur Boulevard, all after 9 a.m.

According to NHP, despite the accidents being moved off the highway, traffic was slowed due to the weather.

The number of accidents was not specified.

Troopers also said Decatur was closed due to standing water on the roadway, from the 215 to Russell Road.

Overall, authorities continue to warn motorists to avoid driving through standing water on low-laying roadways.

The incidents come as a Flash Flood Watch was issued for the Las Vegas Valley.
