North Las Vegas barricaded suspect in custody

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

A suspect who barricaded himself from officers at an North Las Vegas apartment complex was arrested Wednesday.

North Las Vegas police were called to the Los Cabos Apartments in the 4400 block of N. Lawrence Street, near Craig and Losee roads, just after 7 a.m.

According to authorities, officers were originally dispatched to the apartment complex on a domestic call. Police said a suspect was locked in the apartment and refused to come out.

Residents told police the suspect was chasing another man with a knife through the complex parking lot. Police said the victim in the incident was not hurt.

A SWAT team and K-9 unit were called to help resolve the situation, police said.

Police said the suspect sustained minor injuries from the K-9 unit. They expect the suspect to be charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Police did not say if residents were evacuated during the police situation.
