KINGMAN, AZ (FOX5) -

A former Mohave County corrections officer is being accused of conducting an unauthorized strip search of a woman.

Shannon Michael Correll, 25, of Bullhead City, Ariz., was arrested Monday on charges of unlawful sexual conduct in a correctional facility and false imprisonment, according to the Mohave County Sheriff's office.

According to a news release from the sheriff's office, Correll's charges stemmed from an alleged incident involving a woman who was arrested and detained at the Mohave Valley substation jail on Aug. 4.

The sheriff's office said she had been strip searched already. According to MCSO, an investigation concluded that Correll directed the female to a shed outside of the jail and conducted an unauthorized search.

The sheriff's office said no physical touching occurred, but inappropriate comments were made to the woman.

Correll's bond was set at $10,000. The sheriff's office also terminated Correll's employment on Tuesday.
