LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Fire officials said a kitchen blaze at an east Las Vegas apartment complex started when a woman was cooking on a stove.
Clark County Fire reported the incident at a unit near Nellis Boulevard and Flamingo Road just after 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.
According to CCFD, firefighters forced their way into the unit and found a woman down and unresponsive.
A pot on a stove caught fire, investigators said, setting off sprinklers and smoke alarms. The flames also extended to the hall and kitchen cabinetry, fire officials said.
CCFD said the woman was taken to Desert Springs Hospital for smoke inhalation. Her condition was stable, fire officials said.
There were no other injuries as a result of the incident.
Officials estimated damage at $5,000.
