HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -
Henderson ranks 66 among the top 100 places to live on a CNN Money list of America's best small cities. According to Money, 65 miles of trails and affordable home prices make Henderson a popular place for young families and retirees to call home.

Michelle Ripplinger moved to Henderson from Utah six months ago. She said the city is the perfect fit for her young family, especially with all the parks.
"We've loved it. It's really hot, so we're really grateful for these parks that have splash pads and there are a lot of them," Ripplinger said.
Basic High School's Cross Country Coach and Henderson resident of nine years, Will Wells, agreed, "We're happy they opened up the new Heritage Park. There are parks all over Henderson."
The city of Henderson also scored high marks for how it has dealt with the economic downturn and its use of a rainy day fund.
Mayor Andy Hafen said credit goes to the employees and their planning.
"We have a very conservative fiscal department. They put away rainy day funds, so we didn't spend all the money we had."
Hafen said there are still challenges like having more residents and less resources, but they're doing a great job maintaining great service.
Henderson was also on the list back in 2008. That year it was ranked 84th in the nation. Since then its population has grown by more than 22,000 people to more than 263,000 residents.
Seven golf courses are the focus of Riverview, FL. It came in one spot higher than Henderson at 65.
Rogers, AR trails Henderson at 67. The city is home to many executives at Walmart and is also a hot spot for golf.
Carmel, IN is ranked No. 1 on the list. Ann Arbor, MI is 100.
