A swimmer was found drowned Sunday afternoon at Sandy Cove within the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

Park rangers responded to the call around 11:33 p.m. on Saturday and searched the area until 3 a.m. Search efforts resumed later on Sunday resulting in a body being recovered in 30 feet of water.

The Clark County coroner has identified the victim as Kiangsak Ratana, 46, from Las Vegas, NV. He was not wearing a live vest when swimming, according to witnesses.
