Motorcyclist collides with minivan, critical condition at UMC

A 21-year-old man is in critical condition at University Medical Center after his Kawasaki motorcycle hit the right side of a minivan.

It happened Saturday at around 11:56 p.m. at Spring Mountain Road east of Arville Street.

Witness statements and evidence at the scene indicated a Honda minivan driven by Biao Tang, 41, was stopped in the two way left turn lanes eastbound on Spring Mountain Road.

The motorcyclist, Alexander Rust, 21, was traveling westbound on Spring Mountain Road in the right travel lane.

Tang proceeded to turn left into the parking lot of 4300 Spring Mountain Road, at which time Rust  struck the right side of the minivan.

Rust was transported to UMC with life-threatening injuries.

This collision remains under investigation by LVMPD.
