NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -
A bull was found running the streets of North Las Vegas near Craig and Decatur Saturday afternoon.
North Las Vegas police said a bull escaped from Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins' property around 4:30 p.m. and struck the co-owner of the bull.
When police arrived on the scene, they tranquilized the bull.
Collins said while the bull was being returned, another large animal, believed to be a bull or cow was seen roaming the front yard of the same property. Both animals were later secured.
Collins, who was on the way home at the time, told FOX5 the 42-year-old victim had a scrape on her chin, and had returned to his home after being treated at UMC.
Police are investigating how the two large animals escaped. Collins had no explanation either.
"The young bull kind of got curious and wanted to run around the neighborhood a little bit, and we got him gathered back up," Collins said Saturday night as he was preparing for an evening barbecue at his home.
Collins was issued a misdemeanor citation by North Las Vegas police for having livestock at large. That carries a fine up to $1,000 and/or six months in jail.
The commissioner is also facing other misdemeanor charges for unlawfully discharging a firearm within city limits and disturbing the peace in July.
According to a police report, Collins was drinking and shooting shrubs and trees on his North Las Vegas property.
