Renovations on the Boulder Beach Campground at Lake Mead's National Recreation Area are set to begin next week.
The project involves construction of new concrete RV pads, restroom buildings and other campsite related facilities.
Existing trees will remain in place, but all other nonnative shrubs will be replaced with native plants for added shade, privacy and windbreak.
Construction will start during the week of Aug. 20 and is scheduled to be complete by late February.
The renovations are designed to improve visitor facilities and create a campsite that accommodates modern RVs.
The changes will also help conserve water at the site.
The total cost of the project is just over $2,635,000.
It's being funded through the sale of federal lands in southern Nevada authorized by the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act.
