LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

An early morning two-alarm fire destroyed a popular west Las Vegas eatery that had been opened nearly 17 years.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue received a call of smoke coming from a rooftop air conditioner unit at the Original Pancake House on Charleston and Decatur boulevards just before 3 a.m. Friday.

About 60 firefighters responded to heavy smoke and flames to the structure, LVFR said. Crews needed about 15 minutes to control the blaze.

Officials said the fire burned mostly in the attic causing the roof to collapse.

There were no injuries reported.

Las Vegas Fire said investigators are expected to look into the fire's cause over the weekend.

LVFR Public Information Officer Tim Szymanski said it's too early to tell the official cause, but he noted electrical fires are common during this time of year.

The restaurant opened on Oct. 25, 1995 and it employed 25 workers. Most of them had been working there since the opening.
