
Nevada's unemployment rose 0.4 of a percentage point to 12 percent for the month of July, according to the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.
The 12 percent rate equates to 163,700 people out of work.
The Las Vegas metro area has the highest unemployment rate of the state's three population centers at 12.9 percent.
Las Vegas job levels are up 1,900, seasonally adjusted, from June, and 8,700 from a year ago.
