Firefighters rescue a puppy from a house fire Thursday (NLVFD).
NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -
Seven people were left homeless Thursday following a morning fire in North Las Vegas.
It happened in the 1100 block of Bull Run Avenue around 9:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived on scene they found smoke pouring from a single story home and neighbors using water hoses to fight the fire.
Officials say crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire, keeping neighbors and fire personnel safe.
Seven people were in the home when the fire started. According to the North Las Vegas Fire Department three of the individuals were treated on scene for injuries. Two children and one adult were then taken to the hospital to be treated for possible smoke inhalation and minor burns.
Firefighters described finding a puppy near death when they entered the burning home. They used life saving treatments on scene to save the animal, reporting that it was in stable condition Thursday afternoon.
The Southern Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross was providing the family displaced by fire with food, clothing and shelter Thursday.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation Thursday.
