LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Sen. Marco Rubio, R-FL, is the latest lawmaker to make his way to Las Vegas to stump for the Republican presidential ticket.
Rubio spoke at the Summerlin Team Nevada Office at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, discussing Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan's plan to strengthen the middle class and address debt, if elected.
Rubio was also scheduled to meet with Nevada Sen. Dean Heller at a luncheon in Las Vegas Thursday.
Rubio himself was on the vice presidential candidate short list. His visit to Vegas came less than a week after Romney announced that Ryan was his official VP pick.
As speculation swirled about who would be selected as the GOP's number two last month, Rubio made an appearance at his childhood elementary school in Las Vegas. The trip led many to believe was going to be selected as Romney's choice for vice president.
