LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

According to a Clark County representative, Metro police and Animal Control officers were Monday afternoon called to the home of Las Vegas Strip magician Dirk Arthur where CJ the chimpanzee is being kept.

CJ is one of two chimps that escaped a cage last month and roamed a Las Vegas neighborhood. Police shot and killed the other chimp. CJ again escaped her cage this past weekend before being rounded up.

The Clark County rep said a veterinarian was attempting to administer a tuberculosis test when CJ walked out of her cage and into the surrounding enclose. CJ has since been returned to her cage.

Police were on the premises as a precaution.

CJ never left the enclosure during Monday's incident. The chimp is scheduled to be transferred to an animal sanctuary in Oregon on Tuesday.
