LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
A poll released Monday has the race for president in a dead heat. The Politico-George Washington University Battleground Poll shows President Obama with 48 percent and Mitt Romney with 47 percent.
The poll was conducted before Romney announced Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wisconsin, as his running mate over the weekend.

An informal Facebook poll conducted by FOX5 last week showed Mitt Romney with a slight lead over President Obama. 249 people, roughly 44 percent of 556 poll participants said they would vote for Romney if the election were held last week. 223, roughly 40 percent of participants said they would vote for Obama.
A CNN/ORC poll released last week showed President with a 7-point lead over Mitt Romney. That poll showed Obama with 52 percent and Romney with 45 percent.
