A Las Vegas man who had witnessed a fight at an apartment complex sustained gunshot wounds to his chest and arm, the Clark County Coroner's office said.
Authorities said Derrion Banks, 28, died as a result of those wounds during a shooting early Friday morning at the Twain Palms Apartments on Twain Avenue near Swenson Street.
Las Vegas Metro police said a fight during a gathering at an apartment unit spilled out to a parking area. Banks was witnessing the fight from his second floor apartment landing when shots were fired in the air during the scuffle.
Banks was struck by bullets and died at the scene.
Police did not immediately disclose a description on the suspect.
