Apartment catches fire east of Vegas Strip

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A fire east of the Las Vegas Strip drove a resident at an apartment complex from his home Monday morning.

Clark County Fire Department reported the blaze at the Paradise Park Apartments in the 400 block of E. Twain Avenue near Paradise Road just after 5:45 a.m.

Officials said a person was cooking when the stove caught fire. The flames spread to the cabinets and into the walls.

CCFD reported multiple units were called to the scene.

Damage to the apartment was estimated between $15,000 and $20,000.

There were no other units affected by the fire. There were also no injuries.

The American Red Cross of Southern Nevada said it was assisting the resident evacuated by the fire with shelter, clothing, food and other essentials.
