Sewer project moves forward in northeast Vegas

Christy Lane from Washington Avenue to Owens Avenue will be closed beginning August 13 for sewer rehabilitation work.

The Clark County Water Reclamation District is progressing on the project in the Northeast part of town. The project area includes Betty Lane between Washington Avenue and Harris, Washington Avenue from Christy Lane to Betty Lane and Christy Lane from Owens Avenue to Washington Avenue. Sewer collection lines will be replaced and relined as part of the project.

Sewer work will close Christy Lane to through traffic between Washington and Owens from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. Lane restrictions will be posted during off-hours, blocking open trenches during the project. Officials encourage motorists to drive carefully in the area.

People traveling to Eldorado High School are encouraged to take alternate routes for the first fiew weeks of the school year.

Work is expected to last until at least September 21.
