North Las Vegas' Cheyenne Little League will represent Nevada Friday in the Little League West Regional Tournament in San Bernardino, CA.
The Majors Division, made up of 11 and 12-year-old boys, will face the No. 1 seed Northern California in the semi-final game at 6 p.m.
"We are thrilled that 11- and 12-year-old boys from North Las Vegas will be representing the great state of Nevada on this national stage," Mayor Shari Buck said. "Congratulations to you, your parents and coaches. We are proud of this team's sportsmanship, dedication and excellence."
Cheyenne, the current No. 4 seed, beat Southern California 16 to 7 on Wednesday to advance to the semi-finals. Friday's game will be televised on ESPN. The winner will advance to the World Series, to be played in Williamsport, PA.
