(RNN) - Hide your food, hide your cats.
The "alien life-form" who crashed into the Tanners' garage and then into the hearts of America is coming to a theater near you.
In a wave of 80s nostalgia, The Hollywood Reporter says Sony Pictures is planning a live action/CGI movie of the TV Show ALF, much like 2011's remake of The Smurfs.
This time around, Gordon "ALF" Shumway will be an animation, not a puppet. But he will retain his signature wisecracking voice. Puppeteer Paul Fusco, the voice behind the original ALF, has signed onto the project.
If hardcore fans are nervous, The Hollywood Reporter says Tom Patchett, the show's original creator is on board, teaming with Jordan Kerner, who produced The Smurfs.
ALF ran from 1986-1990 and also spawned off a Saturday morning cartoon as well as a full length movie, Project: ALF.
No word on if girlfriend Rhonda or Lucky the Cat will appear.
