LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas attracted more visitors this June compared to the same month in the previous year, the city's tourism authority reported Thursday.

According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, a total of 3,392,798 people came to the southern Nevada metropolis in June 2012, which equated to a 2.1 percent increase from last June.

Las Vegas' year-to-date visitor volume through June 2012 was also up from the same time period in 2011. A total of 19,925,238 visitors were in Las Vegas through June this year, which equated to a 2.4 percent jump from last year.

The June 2012 number was down, though, from May's total of 3,451,394.

The release of visitor numbers came on the same day the Nevada Gaming Control Board reported a downtick in revenue throughout Clark County.

Clark County gaming wins were down nearly eight percent. Las Vegas Strip casinos saw revenue down by 4.5 percent. Downtown Las Vegas reported a 12.8 percent dip and the Boulder Strip saw a decrease of nearly 23 percent.
