LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Ward 2 Councilman Bob Beers is inviting residents to join him for a back-to-school fair and movie night Thursday. Free backpacks, school supplies, light refreshments and drinks will be provided while supplies last.
Beers encourages residents to bring blankets and watch The Muppets movie on the lawn at Ansan Sister City Park.
"Summer evenings are a great time for families and neighbors to get together to enjoy our parks and outdoor activities," said Beers. "This 15-acre park has a playground, fitness course, tennis and volleyball courts, soccer field, picnic areas, walking path and more."
The staff of Ward 2 will be at Thursday's event, helping distribute supplies.
The back-to-school fair and movie in the park begin at 6:30 p.m. The event is scheduled to last until about 9:30 p.m. Ansan Sister City Park is located at 7801 Ducharme Avenue.
