Crime tape and police lights dressed the crime scene Tuesday morning. The same place where a 911 call was made asking for help.
"When officers arrived, they did find a 35-year-old woman who had suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to UMC where she remains in critical condition," said Officer Chrissie Coon with North Las Vegas Police.
After collecting information, detectives think the victim was shot near West Cheyenne Avenue and Commerce Street.
Several bullet holes on the woman's white vehicle will now be examined and documented.
"Detectives are trying to piece together what happened so they can figure out who did it," added Coon.
"I go all over the city, day and night, and I don't really worry about it," added local resident Bonnie Simon.
Several hours after the shooting, customers inside the nearby shopping center continued their day with more caution.
"I make sure my doors are locked and I look before I park. At night, I park closer to the door and just look around," said Simon.
Officials have not released any information or a description of the suspect.
"What detectives are trying to determine is if this was a targeted shooting or a random act of violence," added Coon.
