Seasonal hiring starts for Halloween businesses

Posted: Updated:
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Halloween-themed businesses in southern Nevada have begun putting out the call for seasonal workers.

The owners of Black Cat Costumes and Novelties announced Monday they would fill more than 20 positions at the store on Rainbow Boulevard near Sahara Avenue.

Applicants must be 18 or older and can apply through Aug. 31.

While Black Cat is open year-round, a number of competing costume stores typically open for business in the months leading up to Halloween.

The holiday also sees a surge in hiring at area haunted house attractions, including the popular Fright Dome theme park at Circus Circus.

Last month Fright Dome announced it would hire more than 400 workers to staff the park for its 10th anniversary in Las Vegas.
