LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A woman escaped serious injury Monday after her vehicle flew 40 feet into a wash near downtown Las Vegas.

Clark County Fire Department reported the incident just before 9:30 a.m. at a wash area behind the tents of World Market Center off Symphony Park Avenue near Interstate 15.

The woman's car lost control and left the ground into the wash, CCFD said. The vehicle, though, landed up on all four wheels, CCFD Public Information Officer Tim Szymanski said.

The driver was responsive and contacted authorities.

The crash site was actually not visible from any of the main roads. Police had her describe her surroundings until an officer got to the crash, Szymanski said.

The woman was transported to a local medical center for minor cuts and scrapes.

There was no word on what led the driver to lose control of the car.
