LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
An estimated 25,000 fans came to watch Real Madrid take on Santos Laguna at Sam Boyd Stadium Sunday night.
Many came from all over the country to see these two teams.
Some locals told FOX5 they feel it's time Las Vegas had its own professional soccer team.
That's an idea Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman says has been kicked around.
"There is interest, I have had people come in, from different groups abroad and local to talk about specifically soccer, so it's exciting," Goodman told FOX5 Sunday.
Recently it was announced the city would be getting an indoor soccer team, the Las Vegas Legends, playing at the Orleans Arena in the Professional Arena Soccer League.
The success of the Legends at the Orleans might dictate if a Major League Soccer team could make it here in Las Vegas.
The first preseason game for the Legends will be in October.
