CCSD graduate to receive scholarship dedication

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A Clark County School District graduate will receive the first Dewayne D. Jones scholarship in honor of Superintendent Dwight D. Jones' father.

Jones' father was the first African American land owner in Western Kansas in 1962 and who believed in the importance of students from rural areas attending college.

The scholarship was given to several students from Sandy Valley.
