LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Las Vegas Ward 6 Councilman Steven D. Ross is hosting a free Back to School fair and movie until 9:30 p.m. Friday. The event is at Centennial Hills Park.
Organizers plan to give the first 500 school-age children to arrive free school supplies and binders.
Several community partners will be on hand with supplies and information about their services.
"We'll be helping the kids get ready for school with some needed supplies, so bring everyone and make it family night in the park together," said Ross. "Don't forget a blanket or some low folding chairs so you will be more comfortable for The Muppets movie!"
The Muppets will start at dusk.
Light refreshments and beverages will be distributed while supplies last.
Families can also purchase food from Pop's Philly Steak and Curbside Café.
