Live entertainment will kick-off the fresh52 Farmers and Artisan Market Friday at Town Square.
The farmers market will celebrate its opening at Town Square with live entertainment by HaleAmano, a musical group that plays Island Reggae, R&B and Roots style music. A chef demonstration and a free kid's art park will also be featured.
"We receive quite a few requests from our guests to have a farmers market at Town Square, and with fresh52, we can accommodate them with some of the best local offerings of each season," said Jaimesen Mapes, marketing director for Town Square.
fresh52 was founded in 2010 by Las Vegas resident Carrie Hogan who said she formed the farmers market in an effort to inspire the community to make healthy dietary choices and educate them on what they are eating.
The market will be open every Friday from 9 a.m.to 2 p.m. on North Main Street. Locally-grown, organic, sustainable and seasonal produce as well as homemade items like fresh baked breads and salsas will be available. Produce will vary according to the season.
The Walk In, an indoor area on North Main Street, will house perishable items and informative chef demonstrations.
Organizers say there will be plenty of homemade crafts for shoppers to browse including jewelry, outdoor furniture and other items.
