Vegas police launch online homicide database

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The Las Vegas Metro Police Department launched an online homicide log Wednesday.

The log was launched to provide a public source of homicide information from Metro.

It contains the location for a specific crime or victim, date and times for incidents and victim identification information if previously released by the Clark County Coroner's Office.

No additional information on case status and investigation details will be included.

Metro says additional case information will come from press releases, which are posted to Metro's web site under the "News and Media" heading. Those are publicly accessible.

The homicide log is accessible at Metro's web site at www.lvmpd.com under the "Homicide" section in the upper right hand corner of the home page.
