NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -
North Las Vegas police are investigating a fatal stabbing that happened just after 11 a.m. Saturday on the 5100 block of Blue Rose Street near Washburn Road and Lawrence Street.
"When officers arrived they did find a 44-year-old woman who suffered multiple stab wounds," said North Las Vegas Police Officer Chrissie Coon.
The victim was transported to UMC Trauma where she later died.
Alberto Gutierrez, 47, husband of the victim, is wanted for questioning at this time.
Gutierrez was last seen leaving the house on foot wearing a blue shirt, black shorts and black sandals.
Gutierrez is 6'1", 225 pounds, black hair and brown eyes.
Three adults and three juveniles were home at the time of the stabbing. The juveniles were released to family members.
Some neighbors told FOX5 that there is usually activity in and around the home with large groups of people.
"It's why I tell my kids, don't go outside, because there's a lot of people over there," said Veronica Vera. "Sometimes they're screaming or it sounds like they're fighting."
It is the city's first homicide this year involving domestic violence - an issue that can be unpredictable.
"It is so volatile because people can be emotionally charged, and sometimes do things out of rage that they might not otherwise have done," Officer Coon said.
Anyone with information related to this case should call the North Las Vegas Police Department at 633-9111 or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
