LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Southern Nevada was announced Friday as one of the affected locations in a multi-state food recall for Trader Joe's brand chicken salad.
The United States Department of Agriculture said the recall concerns Trader Joe's BBQ Chicken Salad sold in 14.5-ounce trays.
Officials said more than 5,600 pounds of the salad contain diced onions that are the subject of a possible listeria contamination.
The product bears labels with a July 30, 2012 use-by date and production dates between July 20 and July 24.
Retail locations in Arizona, New Mexico, southern California, southern Nevada and Texas are part of the recall, the USDA said.
So far, officials have not reported any illnesses among consumers with the product.
People with questions about the recall are urged to call 323-923-2885.
