HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -
A marijuana grow operation raided in Henderson contained a number of plants valued at $558,000, police said Friday.
Police charged Candice Blackwell, 28, and Ezekiel Parraz, 29, for possession of marijuana and the intent to sell.
According to police, Blackwell and Parraz were roommates renting a home in the 300 block of New Hope Drive. Members of a southern Nevada drug task force - which includes members of Metro, North Las Vegas and Henderson police departments - served a search warrant Thursday on the residence.
Authorities said the residence housed a very sophisticated indoor marijuana grow operation that appeared to have been in existence for several months. About 186 plants were found at the home.
The two were arrested at the home and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
A neighbor told FOX5 there was "suspicious" activity at the home. Police said complaints of a strong marijuana odor at the residence sparked the investigation.
Parraz was a standout player for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas baseball team. He recently served as an assistant baseball coach for College of Southern Nevada.
