Vegas doctor's license suspended in connection with arrest

A Las Vegas doctor has had his medical license suspended in connection with an arrest for illegally selling controlled substances.

Dr. Vinay Bararia, who specializes in internal medicine, was arrested on March 2 after several undercover officers purchased controlled substances from him.

It's further alleged that Dr. Bararia violated the terms of his pretrial release by ordering scheduled controlled substances at Centennial Hills Hospital or otherwise prescribing controlled substances.

Dr. Bararia is charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, distribution of a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and conspiracy to distribute Oxycodone.
